Recycled content claims of ecoSeries® bumpers validated by UL Environment

03 May 2011

Boston Retails’ ecoSeries® line of flexible bumpers obtained UL Environment Claims Validation (ECV) certifying the plastic material utilized in the manufacturing of the ecoFlex® 1000, 2000, 3300 and ecoSuperFlex 1000 contains a minimum of 80% recycled content. A strict audit was conducted at Boston’s Youngstown, OH manufacturing facility validating the environmental claims and manufacturing processes of the ecoSeries® line of bumpers. The ecoFlex® and ecoSuperFlex validation along with the renewed certification of the ecoRigid plus+ makes Boston Retail the only manufacturer of a complete line of rigid and flexible green bumper profiles that protect capital assets from impact.

“Boston Retail is committed to developing environmentally-preferable systems for multiple markets and industries,” said Russell Rubin, President and CEO of Boston Retail.  “The latest validation on our ecoSeries line supports our commitment to evolve and innovate our product lines to exceed sustainable building and purchasing guidelines around the globe, and the credibility of UL Environment’s validation helps us showcase our value as a more sustainable alternative for bumpers.”

Environmental claims are validated by UL Environment in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 260 – Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing claims, to ensure environmental claims being made by manufactures are accurate and not deceptive.  UL Environment results and methodology are available at ulenvironment.com.
